Skull and Shackles
All characters begin at lvl 1.
All races from the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook can be played (pag. 20-27). Some otehr races are allowed as well. Tengu , Changeling (only the sea hag variant), Undine, Vanara and Vishkanya. No other races are allowed.
All classes from the official Pathfinder Roleplaying Game can be played, except the paladin, monk, inquisitor, ninja, cavalier and samurai. In addition to this the following 3rd party classes are allowed as well: Corsair , Scout , Spy, Bounty Hunter , Corbie and Death Mage .
Although no specific rule is implemented, over the top multiclassing will not be allowed.
All characters begin with the following ability scores: 18, 16, 15, 14, 12, 10
All characters receive 2 traits, one of these must come from the campaign Traits.
Each player is expected to create an interesting background for his character. Each player decides for himself how much work he is willing to put in to this but good backgrounds may be rewarded with benefit points (see the wiki for more on benefit points).
Each player at least needs to take the following in to account.
- each character comes from the world of Golarion, no extra-planar characters
- Characters and their backgrounds may of course be inter-connected. In fact such backgrounds will more easily be rewarded with benefit points.
And finally a general rule for backgrounds: the more material you give me to work with the more interesting the campaign will be for you.
Almost any and all prestige classes will be considered. Just remember that the theme of the game is heavy on swashbuckling and piracy. Try to find something that fits with the game. Pathfinder prestige classes are generally allowed. DnD 3,5 prestige classes will have to be converted. This is always done by me, not by the player.
Finally a general rule for character creation. Anything already part of the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game can be taken without much thought. Anything out of DnD 3,5 needs my approval. Don’t be afraid to ask. I will most likely say yes anyway. The one thing I ask people to think about is the theme and the party. Try to create characters that work well together and that fit within the swashbuckling genre.
